« Three Ways Freelancers Can Get Jobs OnlineWhen Should You Run Advertising On Your Blog? »

The Internet and Freelance Work

12/30/08 | by Isabel [mail] | Categories: Starting a Small Business, Apollo Hosting Customer Notes

The world has certainly changed. From working in the office, workers now have greater freedom over their work output and work hours – all thanks to the internet. Now it is possible to earn your income while working at home. I’m pretty sure you’ve already heard of that, but it is a fact that a lot of people are actually afraid of going fulltime, particularly due to the current economic crisis we are experiencing. I have to say, the stability that office jobs provide is something you will not have with an online career. You can’t expect to have medical benefits, or bonuses. The great thing about working online is that you save on transportation costs plus, you can be with your family.

Freelancing is so much easier today since you no longer have to use traditional methods such as direct mail, cold calling or networking. With just a push of a button, you can now apply to numerous jobs or reach a wider audience. The internet surely has changed our lives – I know mine is a lot better since I started freelancing. Anyone who has skills can enter freelancing, and a lot can be earned in this career, all you need is hard work.
